Who is better: Trump or Biden
As US elections are approaching, both the candidates are rallying in different states promoting themselves as best.
The Republican president Donald Trump is being challenged by Democratic Party nominee Joe Biden.
But before we understand, who is better? Let’s first dive into their background.
Just a brief.
Donald Trump,74, was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York.
He is the 45th President of the United States and took office on January 20, 2017, after defeating Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
He was a businessman, real estate mogul ,and a former reality TV star after graduating with a degree in Economics from Wharton School of Finance.
Also, he is the first billionaire president of the US. According to Forbes, he’s worth is $2.5 B. More about it here.
Joe Biden , 77 , started his career in politics after becoming Senator for US’s state Delaware.
Biden also attended University of Delaware, where he studied history and political science.
He became the vice president of the US during Obama’s term serving from 2009 to 2017.
Who is better?
As Trump became the POTUS, he fueled America’s growth by imposing heavy tariffs on countries like China.
As pointed out in an article, ‘Almost no other country in the world has such a strong influence on the multilateral trading system as the United States. But with his “America First” policy, U.S. President Donald Trump has increasingly undermined international trade law. And that comes with huge costs not only for its trading partners but also for the United States itself’
His trade policies are fundamentally flawed and pose a considerable risk to the economies of both the United States and its trading partners.
Trump has been criticized for what people call childish activities and tweets, which collects widespread hatred among citizens and in different countries.
During Biden’s term, he played an important role in designing trade policies that were in everybody’s interest.
Both the candidates share the same views on China and Pakistan- and are opposing terrorism.
Who is better for India?
It’s hard to put finger. They share very different views.
The US has supported India quite well for past decades.
Not only US sees potential in India but also answer to China as fastest growing economy.
Biden has been in politics since 1970, since then he have had soft corner towards India.
He has repeatedly articulated India’s democracy and the commonality of values as a bedrock for the India-US relationship.
Biden has taken the side of India from his Vice-presidential term too. Also, he has been very optimistic about the US-INDIA relationship, after his visit to India in 2015.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also spoken of India being a trusted partner, and part of global supply chains, while strengthening self-reliance.
As said by Biden ‘If elected, I’ll stand with India against threats it faces’.
It has clear that Biden wants the US-India relationship to go farther.
This also is shown by choosing a Black Asian woman ‘Kamala Harris’ as his running mate for Vice-President of USA
Remember that votes aren’t the sole factor that decides the presidency. There’s something other called Electoral College which plays a very very big role.
As per experts, compared to Trump, Joe Biden will be more understanding on trade, globalization, and economic issues, while calling for more economic reforms and opening up the economy to the world.
According to an Ambassador to the US, Biden administration can be expected to be more globally influential than Trump.
Both, the candidates are completely different. They will present differing opportunities and challenges: on trade, climate change, and human rights.
By these points, we can’t frame a whole picture but it is very likely that Biden will take a more rational approach towards the country’s future and its relationship than Trump.
By this, we can infer that No one is good or bad
Concluding, it can be said that it’s very clear that Biden will have more to offer than Trump. Coupled with his past experience and building on his image, Biden is already ahead in its race.
It’s uncertain who will win for the next 4 years, but whoever it is, the American Dream shall be fulfilled.
Let’s see who leads the White House.
Until next Thursday….
